Soil Hub

The Butte County Resource Conservation District (BCRCD) actively collaborates with the Sacramento Valley Region Soil Hub to enhance soil health and conservation efforts across the region. the BCRCD serves as a guiding community members to a variety of conservation programs offered by partner agencies, such as cost-share opportunities, soil testing services, and habitat restoration initiatives. The district also works closely with the Soil Hub to pursue funding for local projects that promote soil conservation, regenerative agriculture, and climate resilience.

The BCRCD has obtained funding from Zero Foodprint to provide technical assistance with grant administration for funds awarded to farmers in Butte County. These grant dollars will be used to supplement the acquisition and use of compost to restore the fertility of soils on farmlands and sequester carbon contained in composted material.
