David Mitchell, PBA Coordinator
As the Butte Prescribed Burn Association Coordinator, David is focused full-time on planning and facilitating landowner burns, prep days, and training events, as well as using social media to tell the world what amazing things Butte PBAers are doing. David grew up in rural Mendocino county and is a former volunteer firefighter for Butte County Fire company 24 Forest Ranch. For his efforts in promoting and using goodfire for landscape health, forest managemet, and prescribed fire education, he was named the Forest Ranch Lions Club Citizen of the Year for 2024-2025. In his spare time he enjoys gardening and cooking, going on trips with his wife and son, making biochar, and working on his chainsaw skills. David looks forward to being part of the positive culture shift around good fire in Butte County. He is a California State Certified Prescribed Fire Burn Boss (CARX)
